Wow! Never seen anything like that in the garden before. sweetpea. Mind you we have a vast amount of garden spiders it's unlikely I'd see all of them!

My daughter's words when I showed it to her were, 'OMG what is it?' so you were similar in that I can't find my book so don't know what they are called other than just 'White' spiders.

Weirdly enough, I've seen one or two of those on my pots, when I had my patio garden in the middle of town. I remember calling my husband to look. Not seen them this year since we moved to a proper garden. I have had the cool little pale green spiders here too - I think there's more types of those.

That looks like the Spanish albino high jumping and nose piercing spider....how close did you get when taking the photo? I got about 2 foot away, and zoomed in on photoshop. It is a "Argiope lobata" other common names are zipper spider, corn spider, writing spider, and St. Andrew's Cross spider. I believe there are several other names one of the most common being - AAAAGH ........ What the @$%# is that ??

Wow sweetpea that first Aussie spider is colourful, I hope you checked they weren't poisonous before you went near them! desertfooxx, if I were you I wouldn't get too close to something called a 'zipper' spider without holding something in front of you!
