More than twice now I've see a brown fury animal from the corner of my eye, Barnaby's seen it too!! He keeps a vigillent eye open. Also I've had to cover my Sweetpeas as they've been eaten! Convinced it was rats (stables next door) I put two traps down. Yesterday one trap completely disappeared and the other had a dead rabbit in it. I daren't tell 'P'

The traps I use are homemade humane ones as I always release the mice, rats or whatever well away from the house. I reckon if I can't outsmart a little animal then evolution has failed me Currently we have a report of a rat in the utility room last seen behind the dishwasher. My trap consists of a large glass jar set at a 45 degree angle with a ramp leading up to the opening. The bait in this case was some seeds and cheese. its either that or one of the cats will have it.

Poor thing, wonder what happened to the other trap??? We used to catch mice with a propped up pop bottle with a hand full of rabbit food inside.

We are inundated with rabbits and hares. The gap between Killercat's death and the feral cats starting to work meant a lot of rabbits grew too big for the lightweight feral to bother with. Yes singular feral, because Atticus thinks he is a dog or house pet or both and will only catch a few rabbits, but he is getting there. He brings them home to me, but Aquila is killing quite a few rabbits and all the field mice round about.
