Good evening everyone. I amRob I am 35 and live in Warrington, I have moved into a new build property so pretty much a blank canvas, I have joined the site for help and advice as I'm very new to all this other than some success I had a few years back in my first home with a small rear yard and lots of containers and troughs. Look forward to chatting to some of you soon. Thanks, rob

Hi there Robbo81, Nice to see you here. There are a LOT of members who do the "container gardening" route. (I live on the 1st floor, so everything is in pots, in the absence of plants that can grow on concrete/tarmac)[/i]. So, do you have an actuall ground-based garden in your new property ? And are you going for decoration, or edibles ? A warm welcome either way

We just have a patch of grass and flags which is pretty standard new build garden at the min.

Hi robbo81 and welcome to the forum, Hope your ground is ok under the grass, A friend of my daughter moved into a new build and one patch of grass refused to grow so they dug it up to see what was going on, they found 2ft of rubble and an old oil drum!

Pretty standard in new builds I think . I used to work on new build sites, my grass has taken a very long time to grow and it's still not the best looking lawn. I may even re new next spring . Thanks Rosie
