Spotted a pretty hawker dragonfly on the fence the other day & then one was trying to get in through the patio doors later, probably the same one, quite big & tremendous noise from it's wings flapping. This was the biggest one though!

That second photograph is particularly good, SueA. It makes the dragonfly look about a foot long !! What camera do you use ?

Thanks. It's just an old Panasonic TZ6 compact digital camera roofgardener, the dragonfly was quite big, probably about 4 inches long or so & I had the camera only a couple of inches from it. I had the patio door open & it suddenly came flying towards me & gripped the edge of the door whilst looking straight at me, I thought it was going to pop in for a cup of tea! It stayed there for a few minutes until I opened the door a bit wider to go outside again.
