We went to a plant sale at the Dorothy Clive Garden today (yes I got some plants!

) but what I loved most was the sunbathing robin there. It popped out of the bushes hopped around & looked at us & then lay down & spread it's wings out to catch the sun. It wasn't on the ground but about elbow level by the path & wasn't at all bothered by people walking past, apparently they sunbathe to dislodge parasites & spread oil around their feathers.

I wonder if it's learned behaviour it has seen from the blackbirds, and has followed suit?
