I know of someone who was going to a very upmarket beauty salon/spa to have this done - she was as excited as i was revolted. This idea must have drifted across from the tropical countries as there you can stand in the ocean and this happens naturally. As the article implies, in a stale and germ ridden environment this can only be nasty. Ugh

I can only wonder what the sterilizing treatment is doing to the fish? And also wonder if they use de-chlorine treatment for the fish, & cycle the tank/vat before adding the fish (No2-No3-Ammonia). And also if the fish have a filter and get any proper fish food? I wonder if these places really have a clue about fish care??? And what animal welfare people would make of the living conditions of the fish.

i think the point is there isnt any sterilisation procedure lol. the one in town has the fish in a main tank and they then get netted out and put into the foot tanks and then returned after the 'treatment'

All the above raised topics are highly relevant, and are what make me dislike the whole idea so much.
