Lots of lovely butterflies on the verbena bonariensis in the sunshine this morning, a couple of commas, a small & a large white, small tortoiseshell & two painted ladies. Got a nice photo of one of the painted ladies as they stayed around for a while sunbathing.  |

They used it as one of the weather photos on the local TV news last night. We don't get that many Painted Ladies around here usually but I suppose they're travelling further north in recent years as the weather gets milder.
