Just witnessed a life and death struggle. A wasp was up against the window in the shed and as it was trying to fly through the glass a LARGE spider shot out and tried to catch it which it did after a couple of attempts. I wondered which one would win and the wasp came in second.

I once watched a "fight" between 2 sets of bees. One lot wanted to take over the nest of another "clan". It was a viscous and brutal fight with NO survivors.

Lol, luckily I haven't witnessed anything like this so far. I once saw two cuckoos fight for a bit of fruit it did not result in any sort of casualties but the fight was vicious.

Cuckoos are quite scarce over here in the U.K. now millian so you're lucky that you had two at once in your garden over there - even if it nearly resulted in only one! I have seen wrens fighting viciously & cute little robins are pretty aggressive with each other as well.
