We did see one after the fish in next door's pond here grindle when we first moved in but he has netting over so I think it gave up visiting in frustration at watching dinner just out of reach! Haven't seen any at our pond but then we only have the odd frog in there so not rich pickings for them but the 'lake' on the football field seems popular.

I found the worst time for them visiting garden ponds is when they are feed their young, a couple of years ago they managed to raid nearly every pond in the village, I've got mine surrounded by planting so there is nowhere for them now to wade in which seems to be doing the trick

Great pictures SueA. We haved a Heron flying down to the River Fiddich quite regularly.

The heron was back here this morning on the field by 'the lake', I'm sure it thinks there are fish in there now as the flooding has been there so long!
