Can anyone identify this shrub please? It's about 18inches tall, and has very small glossy leaves that are a wine red colour with a slight variegation. I guess that it's an evergreen because there was no sign of leaf droppage when I saw it yesterday. It does not have thorns. Thanks in anticipation! Attachments:

Has the look of Leucothoe 'Scarletta' though I have a feeling that the leaves on that are longer than shown here.

That, I think, is Euonymus Emerald and Gold in it`s winter colours.

Think I agree with Dai. Especially if the foliage was indeed yellow and green mid season. Useful low growing shrub.

it's a Coprosma, a New Zealand shrub, could be 'Fireburst'
