Butter beans are the dried seeds of the Lima bean. They are not that easy to grow in Britain as they need warmer temperatures then we usually get, certainly in this part of Britain at least.

Not sure where you are based but as Geumlover says I think it may be too cold in the U.K. to grow butter beans outdoors, maybe they can be grown in a polytunnel or greenhouse?
