Good Afternoon everyone. Im planning to start growing some dahlias but cant seem to understand a lot of things about dahlias and where to get them. I saw some single flowered seeds in the supermarket last time. But its not the one ive been looking for. Can you recommend some shops that ships internationally? And is it ok to start them from seeds? or should I buy tubers? tubers were really hard to buy, no shops other than ebay that is willing to ship in the philippines. thanks<3 I heard that if I want to grow dahlias I must buy tuber to get a good result, do dahlias grown from seeds were not that good?

I think most of the packs of dahlia seed you find in shops are for 'bedding dahlias' erani which are usually not as tall & come in mixed colours but they do eventually form tubers. Most of the people on here grow from tubers because they want to buy a specific variety to enter into flower shows etc., they're taller plants & come in lots of known varieties but some people also save the seed from these plants in the hope of getting a seedling which will be a new prettier plant. Hopefully one of the experts on here will help you with suppliers.

Hi Erani, try Halls of Heddon. The sell tubers abroad, top quality and very healthy tubers. I'm surprised you haven't tried Australia, as there is a thriving dahlia scene there.
The link for Halls. www.hallsofheddon.com
Good luck
