I have 2 very old but very floriferous Viburnum Opulus at the bottom of the garden, they look great for a month then very boring so...I was thinking about putting a climbing rose and a clematis through each. Thing is, I'm a typical cancerian and I can't make a decision. What roses and/or clematis combination would you use?. No pink though. There is faarrrrr too much pink in my garden

I would have pink Rosie - you can never have too much pink! I used to have climbing a 'Golden Showers' rose & purple clematis jackmanii over an arch at our old house & they looked good together, not very original if you want something unusual but reliable & pretty.
