I am busy sorting out our shower room and currently TRYING to strip the OLD cork tiles off the partly render and partly tiled floor. The adhesive is proving a right problem to remove so just wondered if anyone knows what might remove it easier than chiseling it off with a trowel and club hammer. they've probably been down for at least 20 years or so. (the tiles that is)

I've never tried it myself sweetpea but I remember reading someone suggesting using heat to partially melt the adhesive to make it easier to remove, can't remember if it was with a hairdryer or some sort of blowtorch or similar but I imagine you'd have to be careful not to set fire to the tiles!

Thats exactly what we did with the awful stick on kitchen tiles in here, Graham has a warm air gun we used that to soften the adhesive and a wall paper scraper to lift them off.

tried both hot air paint remover gun and weed torch flame gun but no go. Saw a brilliant tool on a video someone posted elsewhere but nearly seventy quid for a one off, no thanks. Anyway got most off now the hard way so going to try a steam cleaner on whats left of the adhesive, watch this space ps rosie picked first strawberries yesterday, all three of them Not sure which variety it was as label gone walkabout. Not really expecting a proper crop this year but my taste buds are eagerly anticipating.
