I haven't checked for a couple of weeks sweetpea but we've had a couple around here as usual, I think as grindle said it might just be too hot sometimes, ours seem to have been coming out a bit later than normal at around 10.30pm & the last few times I've only seen one by itself, I love listening to their clicks on the bat detector.

I have seen a couple swooping round our house a few weeks ago. No idea what kind they are though

I've never noticed bats on the Roofgarden. Perhaps it's too high ?

Our bats have been out & about for around a month now, like you sweetpea I find it hard to tell if it's two following each other or one doing a big circle. I have seen 2 at once occasionally swooping over the field at the back at the same time though. You might well have bats flying around roofgardener, they're very fast & very small & if you have moths & flying insects visiting your plants on the roof the bats would be attracted to them, they're out at around 9.30- 9.45pm at the moment around here.
