steve could you please consider changing the background of the forum from white to a colour that causes less eyestrain please and for the same reason increase the font size too? Thanks in hopeful anticipation.

you can increase the size of the font on your computer to suit @willow To be honest I quite like the white background

Thanks in hopeful anticipation. Just to expand on grindle 's point.... In Windows, you can increase the font size of a web page by holding down the Control and Shift keys simultanously, and pressing the "+" key. To reduce it back again, you hold down JUST the Shift key (not the Control key), and press the "-" key. I don't think you can change the background colour, however.

grindle and roofgardener I'm mostly using my iPad. The background colour is definitely changeable in fact the background could be a photo.

a photo background would be horrible imo I hate the coloured fussy backgrounds on some forums, I think this works just fine as it is but that's just my opinion

Must admit I like the white background, it makes the writing easy to read. I have no idea how an I pad works, I'm on a wee net book most of the time

I can't see the point in changing anything on here, it's always worked well enough for everyone and we've been happy with it since it started. If page glare is a problem there are plenty of protectors available to buy without having to go to extremes of changing a forum layout.

I'm not suggesting a layout change grindle. Perhaps steve could create another forum skin? Any chance you could increase the font size please steve?

As long as you are ok grindle, don't worry about anyone else! Perhaps I'll just not bother posting here!

I have to broadly agree with @willow's suggestion. Creating a new skin is probably a rather time-consuming proposal (complete with the option to select/change skins for each user), but it might be more comfortable for some people ? I'd love some guidance from Steve on this ?
