A vivid imagination,yes. But I write the stories I like to read and if they are more suitable to children than to adults then so be it.
Actually the writing began hundreds of years ago when I tried to produce a story for each of my classes when I was teaching. The idea was to show them how to write a story. The good stories survived and were written down, the less good ones quietly forgotten.
I wrote the Castle with Hiccups over 30 years ago, but the two sequels were done this year.
