We have heaps of ladybirds clustered on all sorts of plants, even blackberries with no leaves yet. They are alive and moving, but not too agile yet.

I saw my first bee of the year today and also found ladybirds in some dead stems I was cutting back. I am pleased about that as I saw very few of them last year.

Like Cherry I've seen lots of Ladybirds. On Sunday I saw about 100 clustered on a gatepost. Hopefully we'll have less greenfly to contend with this year. By the way, they can't all be 'Lady'birds, how do you tell ?

Not seen any butterflies or bees yet here just a couple of ladybirds looking a bit sleepy still. 'Merlin' the one on top is a boy! ;D I think European ladybirds look the same in both sexes to us but luckily they can tell the difference themselves!
