I'll start this off with one of Graham Rice's (Chief editor for the RHS) plant suggestions for 2011. It's a perpetually blooming Lilac, Syringa 'Bloomerang Purple'. The fragrant flowers start in late spring and go on all summer! Maybe one to look out for.

Another is the new double flowered Japanese Quince, Chaenomeles japonica 'Double Take' with huge semi-double flowers (much larger than any other type). The flowers are described as almost Camellia-like in form if not as large!

That Chaenomeles sounds interesting SteveN. You are in just the place to see these new plants.

SteveN is looking out for it this year for me....isn't that right pet

Wasn't that Syringa meyeri 'Palibin' Lou? This one ONLY flowers in spring with another flush in August. Still more than most types. No, this incongruously named one (Bloomerang Purple...) flowers all summer. New to me

Bye the way.....I think we have some meyeri Palibin's in stock now! They are in the a-z shrubs outside in the 'S's'. Either call in or ring up to make sure though. Off this week (obligatory one before the busy start). Looks like I chose the right one eh?

Lol, there definitely was some last week. If a certain landscaper came in though, he may have taken them.

Definitely will be getting more. Don't suppose you asked anyone? Stuff is constantly getting shuffled or moved around as new plant lines come in.

I did, "sort of" ask..... I forgot the variety but knew I would know it when I saw it.....if you know what I mean....I should have written it down ...I was directed to all the "points of sale" where they were.....but no luck
