Some years back I bought an Astronomy Planetarium disc but since then I have changed computers. the disc runs ok on a 32 bit machine but not on my 64 bit one. i can't really afford the new one which is around the 90 quid mark so question is, 'Is there any way that will allow me to run the 32 bit disc on my 64 bit machine?

Try Googling VLC Media player Sweetpea, It is free and plays a good variety of discs/Films slides etc, other than that there is a way of running your media player in compatibility mode but I'm not certain on how to do that?

Cheers steve no harm in looking I suppose. Actually just remembered an old PC of my daughter's is out in the shed so I might try rigging that up to try it. not now as it's persisting down, typical Pembrokeshire weather.

How about something like this as a replacement sweetpea, probably not as good but you can buy individual discs or the collection & they will send you a download followed by the disc? Astronomy discs

sweetpea, what exactly is this disk ? A computer program, or a video disk ? Are you trying to 'install' something from the disk, or simply attempting to play a video file ? Is there a publication date on the disk ? It may not be strictly a 32-bit vs 64-bit issue, but rather the actual code itself. USUALLY.... if it is a software program... then Windows has a "compatibility" mode that may help.

I've always just clicked on 'Forgot password' and enter your email and you get a link sent to reset it. not the same one though.

Another techie question, granddaughter has forgotten her laptop password, is there an easy work around without having to edit the BIOS etc? Hmm... if she can't log into windows, then she can't get email. there are a variety of ways of dealing with this problem... but which one to use, depends on the precise situation. Is this the windows login password ? The one you enter before you even get INTO windows ? (but with the coloured windows background and password prompt box ? ). If so, do NOT fiddle with the BIOS, because it won't help, and could make matters worse. If so, what version of windows ? And what make/model of laptop ?

Thanks Roofy but sorted it tonight, it was the windows password and it was windows 10, above where you log in was her email address and this doubles as a microsoft account, So it tells you when you have failed to log in a few times to go to outlook/login . com or something like that but of course you can't because you can't start windows up, so I went to the site it suggests from a second laptop, put her email addie in there and was given the option to change the password but first they had to send a code by text to a phone they had on record (pauses for a breath)and it only shows you the last 2 digits of the phone number, it wasn't mine, wasn't granddaughters, wasn't wifes but they did match last 2 digits of daughters, you had to fill in the last 4 numbers and if it matched what they had on file they sent a code to the phone (second breath) I rung daughter to see if she had received a code and she had, I put that in on the site and it gave the option to make a new password, did that and it says you can now use that to log in...never going to work I thought, but it did! I know they have to be careful in case its a nicked laptop you are trying to unlock but jeeez Did I make sure I wrote this password down for her

Ooooh... I didn't know that steve . I'm guessing this is Windows 10 Home Edition...... we only have Pro at work, which manages things in a slightly different way. Well done on fixing it, and to sweetpea for the original suggestion
