Hi everyone, it's that time of year again and I'm back. Been a bit AWOL but then life/health has been a bit AWOL but I'm back again with zilch patience as always, would hate to disappoint lol
I will upload pics as soon as I figure out the easiest way to do so with iPad.
The front hasn't changed much besides a bit more mature growth... just like myself lol. I've a few pots added to the front of course with wild roses in them.
The back I guess hasn't really changed much either. Actually it has as I've no veg in as yet. Just flowers and bare root stuff at mo.
I did loose my wee greenhouse cover during the last storm, tattered and torn so just got rid of it, still have the frame of it and shelves in place.
We're still thinking/scheming polytunnel(s) for OHs home house.
Brain is on overdrive!!!

good to see you back KC look forward to seeing your pictures, I think everyone is lacking patience this spring Thank you grindle... so good to be back with everyone else who is lacking patience lol SueA - believe it or not I don't have any strawberries in yet this year. Really need to get myself into gear. Can only lack patience if the seeds/plants are actually in lol

SueA I love the camellia too, beautiful colour. I think I might have two of them but only one has bloomed so far. I really should get them in a bigger pot really shouldn't I?

Ok so the polytunnel...
Well it's likely to be two although we're very much in the thinking stages...
Both are likely to be 20 feet wide with double doors at the front and single doors at the back, and 40 feet long. Guttering come down into water butts
First one will have a U shaped raised bed only an upside down U or you wouldn't be able to get in from the front entrance lol It will start about 1/4 into the tunnel, leaving potting space and room for tools etc Growing all sorts of everything in there Outside the tunnels will be a fence to the left side and behind. Possibly made out of pallets with spouting/guttering screwed to them for strawberries Behind, between the tunnels and the fence will be the potato plot. Either in between the tunnels or to the right of the second one, we will have one long raised bed the full length of the tunnel Part of it will be for blueberries and the other part might have a hinged dome for cauliflower, cabbage and sprouts etc to protect them
The second polytunnel gets more interesting... We are considering and highly debating building a swimming pool at the back part of it Nothing by any means fancy. Dug out, pallets and plywood, pool liner, possibly treated timber edged top Possibly 20 feet by 14 to 20 feet with rounded corners, depending on if I want to grow any plants down that end Leaving plenty of room at the front for comfy sitting and dining with a few plants surrounding I'm thinking nice spelling flowers mixed with soft fruit This will come to pass if the novelty doesn't wear off. Failing that it will be raised beds like the other one or make one long one
Anyway, that's what's behind our dreaming/scheming at the moment. What are your thoughts?

That sounds very ambitious KC! Where you're thinking of maybe putting a long raised bed inside the tunnel I wouldn't grow blueberries & cabbage/sprouts etc. inside or put a dome/lid over the veg. as they need a bit of exposure to cold, also the blueberries need acidic soil so would need their own section. Your camellia looks happy enough in it's pot but as you say I would pot them on into slightly larger pots as they grow. Good luck with the tunnel project keep us up to date with what you decide.
