It looks like the latest seeds planted are now shooting is there anything I should do to help then grow except a good dose of Snail Food. They only get afternoon direct sunlight. I have also added a new heaver climbing wire. There is also a light watering system for them.

WOW.. they look BEAUTIFUL. I'm growing some sweet peas myself... no idea what variety. Ummm.. yes.. sorry.. I jumped into your post from the "New Posts" screen, and didn't notice which section I was in Umm.. I have no idea I'm afraid. I've never grown them before, and anyway I germinate (and bring them on) in my Polytunnel, and only plant them out when they are about 6" tall.

Depends on which method of growing you use. eg for exhibition and superior flowers one would normally use the cordon system where you train a shoot up a single cane. in which case you would reduce the amount of shoots to just one. If on the other hand you want many blooms but shorter stems then just let them all grow. You could even pinch out the leading shoot to induce more, your choice. Known as the bush method of growing you still need to support the plants with some form of structure. Just as an aside when I grew sweetpeas I never fed the plants as all the goodness was incorporated into the soil when preparing the site. An exception to this would be an occasional spray witheither seaweed extract or soot water which is known to enhance the colour of the blooms.
