Thank you Sue. 71 today - sorry typo I mean 17 (I wish) - in the head lol ! Going to Proms night at Eccles Town Hall tonight so will enjoy a glass or two of wine. Enjoyed my garden this year. The pastel coloured lavenders I planted a couple of years ago have been fab and are very low maintenance - just a good trim in mid August and a feed of Potash in Spring is all they need and they are very frost hardy. Grew mainly Cosmos in my borders for cut flowers and planted Salvias, geraniums and begonias in my pots. Have also created two alpine pots which have had good results so far. Love my garden, my escape from the humdrum of a busy life. Hope you are well and enjoying yours too, but we've had a lot of rain haven't we.

Thank you Steve. Up to the eyes in preparing for my friend from Dallas coming to stay for a couple of weeks tomorrow. Planning to take her to High Legh Garden Centre near Knutsford as they have been chosen as the Klondyke Group's flagship garden centre for Christmas this year so expect it will be quite a spectacle. I last went 5 weeks ago and a large area of it was 'under wraps' as they were already busy with their preparations.

I didn't know that about High Legh, we went about a month ago & wondered why they'd moved everything around but thought it must be something to do with Christmas, we'll pop in & have a look next time we head that way.

Thank you Garden Friends for all your birthday wishes - very kind of you. Not had much chance to stand still since my friend arrived. It is her birthday today so we went for a carvery lunch in Cheadle. Not had time to do any gardening since she arrived but will be getting some outdoor jobs done after she leaves on Monday.
