Not sure if I have doen right or wrong but have sown my onion sets in large cell trays in my greenhouse to give them a helping start.

That's fine but just remember that if a heated g'house then harden off prior to planting out as it could give the plants a check and cause them to bolt. I used to plant all my sets in pots or trays but I don't bother now as not strictly necessary so why give yourself extra work?

I did mine in cells a few weeks ago Scotkat, in a cold greenhuse and they are growing nicely. Up here in the north the soil is slow to warm up. It willgive me the chance to lay some black plastic over the soil to help warm it and get rid of some of those slugs.
