Not sure what you've posted sweetpea, might be at my end but I can't see your pic. My half-sister (we had the same dad) lives in a retirement village on the coast about an hour from Sydney, she has Alzheimer's now & her husband has written to me saying that they have a constant smell of smoke & burnt leaves landing on their villa. There's bush nearby but no fires there yet so hopefully they'll be O.K., one of her sons lives in New Zealand now & the smoke has reached there. Heart breaking watching all the poor bewildered animals trying to escape the fires.

I can only echo what Eli has said. It's such terrible news, and my thoughts are certainly with the people and wildlife in the affected area's.

It would be good if our Doris redirected some of that misguided foreign aid to help the Aussies who clearly would appreciate it.

That was a good link keith. The Age is a quality newspaper. The fires are really out of hand and It is sad to see another fireman dyeing for the cause. Your son has had a close call in the past, but good that he is ok.

If you are an animal/bird life lover this is hard to read without getting emotional. www.wwf.org.au/get-involved/bushfire-emergencyThe fire the son was involved in saw many birds dropping out of the sky because of the heat and the smoke. Keith

What gets me is the wild Koalas can be handled so easily when suffering from burns etc.
