the first of the frogs arrived at the beginning of the week and now I already have spawn in the pond, slightly earlier than last year I think

I`ve had a small pond now for several years and no frogs yet grindle Someone who gave me some span years ago but they disappeared and I felt a bit guilty. Would it be so bad to try spawn transplanting again this year do you think ??

I went & had a look at our pond yesterday because of what you'd said grindle & there is a little frog down there, it was sitting at the edge & must have been in the pond as it looked damp & had duck weed on it but it looked half asleep as though it had only just come out of hibernation, I put some mealworms down near it just in case it was peckish! Took a photo but it's not very clear as it was very dull & dark & I didn't want to shock the poor thing with a 'flash'!

The one I saw here appeared to have eaten all the mealworms yesterday although I didn't see him so I dropped a few more where he'd been sitting, very mild out so I think they are all just waking up.

They're getting frisky here too now sweetpea, not a good pic. as I had to try & zoom the camera into a dark corner of the pond to catch them! The female looks to have a lot of eggs:-
