Got a friend who knows a friend who knows someone with a large pond I`ll have to clear my little pond in anticipation of new arrivals Hope I don't find my little hedgehog down there as I`ve just seen that they can easily drown in ponds.

Lots of tadpoles here yesterday as well, I thought they'd all died in a cold snap a while ago but it must have just been the top layer of spawn & these survived below them. All wriggling round in the sunshine!

They were harder to spot here yesterday as well grindle but at least we know they're there now. Lots of frogs sunbathing yesterday around the edge of the pond, these 2 were with 4 others. This one has decided to live in a watering can on the patio, I always leave a piece of wood in so that they can climb out if the water level drops. And this is a little video of the tadpoles the other day, everything will get a sock when the temperature drops again this weekend!

Got the first of the frogspawn this week (the wire is to stop the cats getting to the fish as it's the only bit that isn't netted )

I dont get frogs spawning in the pond but I do have plenty of frogs and toads in the garden. We have 40 fish in the pond so even when I introduce spawn the taddies get eaten.

glad you got some in the end SueA I haven't had any more since the first lot so I would imagine they are already hatched by now

Sadly still no frogs this year either but I have had a suggested area near me that might supply me with some frog spawn so I might dander down there soon with a jam Jar

We had ice over the spawn, but this year's brood have produced the largest tadpoles we've seen so far. I'm wondering if it isn't due to the amount of algae they're able to hide in.
