The birds are definitely getting frisky around here & looking for nest sites. Had a couple of close encounters, yesterday I was gardening & the sparrows were all pottering around the garden, suddenly they all flew into the bush behind me & a sparrowhawk swooped over my head & sat in the cherry tree above me before swooping over my head again & flying off, if I'd been smaller I think I'd be a gonner! This morning I could here scratching in the kitchen, located it to above the window & could here pecking! Some of you may remember we had starlings nesting in the airbrick in the back bedroom & I thought one had got in again. The noise moved to near the washing machine & I realised something was stuck in the wall cavity! I managed to unscrew an airgrill & shone a light in it to attract it's attention & out popped a slightly confused little bluetit! I'd opened the back door & he looked at me then flew outside, don't think that's a very suitable nest site. ;D
