Lots of overhanging branches badly needing sorted but too difficult to reach and ladder out of the question as ground uneven. Quick look online and half hour later I was the proud owner of a long telescopic bypass pruner similar to one I had years ago when I did garden maintenance. Took less than another 1/2 hr to do the job and now will try and shred most of it if dry tomorrow. The new model also has a saw attachment if I ever need to use that so well chuffed.

I`ve been looking at those as well sweetpea as I`m getting a little afraid of hanging of a ladder trying to prune my neighbor's overhanging bridle wreath which I detest because the flower petals descends into my tea and as it self seeds all over my garden. What ones did you get?

Not electric and I paid £99.99 and I have used the cheapo ones before but they don't last long with what I needed a bit like most cheapos. I did consider the pole chainsaws but decided against and more than happy with what I got now. I can now cut my wife's toenails from 7 metres but she won't let me prove it

I bought florabest extendable tree pruners in lidl, reduced to £12 and have been chopping away at one neighbours invasive ivy and the bridle wreath hanging over my patio from the garden above both shrubs are seeding all over the place. It's been cutting well so far though I`m not expecting to much rom it for that price.

I've got the "string machine".. it's a kind of cutter/scissor arrangement on the end of a long pole. You pull the string, and the cutter closes, chopping anything in its jaws

I am glad that you managed to find a good pair of shares. I remember the times when I was searching for a pair of garden shares. I thought that it would take me not more than a couple of hours, but in fact, it took me 2 days to choose which pair to buy. Each time when I found a good pair of shares after reading reviews about it, I used to change my mind. At last, after so many useless searches I found the best pair of gardening shears. It was very important for me the shares be perfect because I had to work a lot with them, and I just wanted to buy a good pair from the beginning and don't go to the shop each month.
