Thank you very much for these "happy birthday" messages. I told you on my diary page that we had a train ride. We have also been in a slate museum this afternoon and been out for another meal this evening. we have been lucky with the weather, it has been nice so I have enjoyed my birthday .We may go somewhere tomorrow morning, perhaps just a walk but we are going home in the afternoon.

Thanks very much, Grindle and Lesley . We arrived home today about 6.30 after an enjoyable few days in Llanberis. So, I am another year older and it is 20 years since I retired. I can't honestly say that I feel any older than when I was working 20 years ago. I had always worked in laboratories. I started work in 1952 at L.Dennis's chemical works at Walkden and was there till the firm closed down in 1976. This is now the site of Blackleach Country Park which I frequently tell you about on my diary page . I then worked at Tetrosyl Ltd (Car plan) at Bury where we made car products till 1990, then went to Feb. Ltd at Swinton, makers of cement based products till I retired in 2000.
