Thanks SueA I used to have Hoya carnosa but not any more, and I'd forgotten about it. After reading through this thread I must get another one, and maybe a few more !

Thanks SueA I used to have Hoya carnosa but not any more, and I'd forgotten about it. After reading through this thread I must get another one, and maybe a few more ! They seem to be in a bit of a resurgence. Lots of new species are being discovered which is great in one way, but sad in another as they are usually found on trees that have been felled and cleared for farming. I could send you some cuttings of carnosa and one or two others if you would like?

One of the two Fishtail Hoya (H. polyneura) cuttings I received a few weeks ago has already started shooting🙂 This one makes a quick growing, trailing plant (not my pic). Really easy and rewarding species to grow.

Thank you SueA. That Hoya picture was taken at night and I could not get all the flowers in. There were odd flowers from Spring until now as there are only a few left, so it was a long flowering season. I can’t work out how to post pictures, yet I have tried from ladybird’s posts. I thought I would make it a lockdown target, but missed somehow. Fractal would you like to send me your address if you want some of this Hoya of mine with no name, and which extends for miles in the kitchen. I planted it in my daughter’s North Queensland garden, and I never saw it flower. It was making for the jungly garden, yet it is in a hanging basket. It was in a basket because I thought it would grow like the Hoya carnosa, but I kept cutting it off the Frangipani tree which it grew through. The Frangipani supported orchids and a python which used to sit on the flat of the ‘L’ shaped trunk to warm in the sun.

Your Hoya does look like H. carnosa which I already have but thank you for your kind offer. To be honest, I currently have enough on my plate with the current crop of species and types I have for now😉

The Hoya with no name is not Hoya carnosa. It has typical spotted leaves, but they are longer and on a stronger, thicker stem. I don’t know what this one is called and have never seen a flower on it in Queensland. This is the one I offered, but it is not as tidy as Hoya carnosa. Don’t worry. I will give it longer and see if it flowers.

Hoya memoria in my collection flowering now. Great plant as its compact and very easy to grow. It has small pink flowers which open fully with reflexed petals. The strong caramel scent is produced during the day rather than at night so it's pollinator in the wild won't be a moth. Here's a few pictures of its flowers.

That’s pretty Fractal. My H Carnosa is flowering already and I expect flowers for months.

Hoya 'Mathilde' (pronounced Matilda) has really put on loads of growth from the tiny two leaf cutting I bought last year! Not only that, there are at least 15 flower peduncles. It's going to be a veritable waterfall of flowers!

Mine hasn't flowered yet either. I'm hoping it's the variety 'Hawaiian Purple' which is stunning! Only had mine two years so hoping...
