As you may remember I said I had made Victoria and Dan a quilt for them as part of their wedding present. Well they have seen it and said they love it!

14 British birds joined by a design called double Irish chain. Colours go witht he colours of their room.

Seaburn your quilts are beautiful and brill that you were featured in the magazine . Do you top stitch by hand or machine ? How long would it take you to complete a large quilt.

Ladybird this quilt top took 173 hours from starting to cut the fabrics to the completed top, all sewing on my machine. I wanted it long arm quilting in one piece so I paid to have it done. the edge binding took 50 mins to machine on to the quilt, then 5hrs to turn it and hand sew it down.

I usually machine quilt quilts but in 3ft wide sections as that is the biggest width I can get in my machine. My preferred technique is outline/echo quilting where you echo the shape of the block. I do quilt small projects by hand though.

Very envious of all of you who can paint, those are lovely Lesley.
