Didn't want to hijack Eli's thread so I'll start one here for anyone who wants to put any pics. of arts, crafts etc. to how us as ladybird asked to see some of my drawings & sweetpea was going to put some of Maureen's paintings on. I seem to remember Lou78W used to paint as well (hope she's O.K.) Some of my pen & ink & pencil drawings in the hall. I draw/paint from photographs I take usually but the top row here are from mine & the bottom from a book :- Oil paintings, pastel of O.H. when he was much younger ( ) & watercolour daylilies:- Watercolours of Galloway, Robin Hood's Bay (I think) & Tenby from our past holidays:- I haven't painted for years or drawn for a few & don't think I can very well after breaking my wrist. I found a tapestry I started about 20 years ago in the wardrobe & have picked it up again but wrist aches after a little while.

These are superb SueA ! Thanks for showing them. They look nice framed too. I hope your wrist will feel better in time and you'll be able to finish your tapestry.

Thanks all, I've only painted/drawn so many because I can't stand bare walls in the house! When we moved from our old house I had to repaint 2 rooms before we put it on the market as there were so many faded squares/rectangles where the pictures had been! I've never tried charcoal steve only pastels which I suppose are fairly similar, I've tried most mediums but I'm more a 'jack of all trades, master of none' type person although I suppose drawing is my favourite. I like to get more of an impression of what I'm painting/drawing rather than struggle to get it very realistic as I don't have the patience for that, I like David Hockney's style - colourful!

Did you mention ages ago that it was Joy who draws with charcoal steve? I'm too messy I think to do that & I seem to remember when I used pastels that you're supposed to spray them with a setting spray so that they don't smudge afterwards? Just remembered that lesley paints as well & ladybird decorates everything she makes too.

I don't use charcoal either SueA, I find it messy. What I like best are graphite pencils, water soluble ones and 'ordinary' ones It will be interesting to see some of your work lesley.

I have only just seen this thread your pictures are amazing Sue , you are very talented, the goats are especially lovely. I look forward to seeing Lesley`s . I have no talent what so ever in that area but after christmas I`ll have a go and paint tracing only as I cant draw either.

Thanks ladybird, I think you do have talent in your designing & decorating your folders, trays & boxes, I like drawing in particular but will have a go at anything.

Yes I know who I am Cherry and I'm going to start sorting my pottery-making shed out soon - on Christmas Day actually, I have nothing else to do, and it will take my mind off things.
I drew this snowman to make some Christmas cards but never got around to it so people will have to have bought ones again for this year.

That's great Eli, it would make a lovely Christmas card, you'll have to get some made ready for next year then if it's too late now.
