I started this quilt in the summer but stalled for a few reasons. But it is now complete and due to go to its recipient at the weekend. She is the 18yr old daughter of one of my best friends. Her mum loves it so lets hope she does too. It is called random stars as each block is made random fabrics in a beige/tan colour palette. Their placement was also random. I do not normally do random so this was rather a test for me.

Completed another story. Waiting for editor to do something with the last one I sent to him. Don't like to nag as he does it for free.

I joined an art group in a local town a few weeks ago, and on my first day I took along a few things I'd painted, just to show people really, and one of the things I took along to show them was a painting of two daffodils that I'd done last year. Now every month they have a little competition - there's no pressure and you don't have to join in, it's just a bit of fun. The competition theme for March was 'something Welsh' and one of the members said I should enter my daffodil painting. I didn't think it was that good, but I did enter it ... and it came 2nd ! I missed last week's group so was only told about it today Funny how people seem to like a not very good painting ... (sorry the photo has come out a bit blurred)

Thank you grindle and seaburn, if I'd had time to think about it I would have put it in a frame, it might have looked better

That's a great painting, Eli! If I were to try and do a simple line drawing of some Daffs you probably wouldn't recognise it as such! πππ

Had a day with friends where we all made a small quilt to sell for our chosen charity this year. We supplied the fabrics from our stash [quilters stash fabric just like us gardeners who have to buy and then think where will it go].They were all the same size 44"x50" and priced at Β£40. I have a prospective buyer for mine. The feature fabric is cartoon happy sharks. When I chose the fabric it made me smile.
