What fabulous photos posted on here - enjoyed scrolling through them. Beautiful everyone. I am going to help my son to do a wildflower border. He's only just getting interested in gardening but he has a wide patch 15' by 3' which he has left as wild long grass and it is teeming with insects so that is a good start. Will plant some yellow rattle asap and bought some native wildflower perennial seeds ready for September and will start by cutting the long grass down first. Do garden centres sell wildflower plants?
Sue A: Love that beautiful foxglove.

I will have to have a mooch around and see what I can find. Just trying to post a pic of my rampant rambling rose "The Peasant." Best £6.50 I ever spent. Protects the shed roof from the squirrels which is why I planted it and gives a nesting place for the birds. Flowers most of June and is lovely. Time for a good chop after it has finished flowering - not done it for a few years because it attacked me last year!

Fantastic rose libralady, you'll need a big ladder to trim that one! I've no idea if the foxglove in the pic. is self-seeded or a bought one, I just let them do their own thing but I did buy some from Hayloft plants so it might be one of theirs. I think you might be better looking online to see if anyone is selling plug plants of wildflowers for your son's garden- (www.rocketgardens.co.uk have some on offer) as that might work out cheaper but you do get some in garden centres.

The way out to the road at the bottom of my garden, you have to walk under an overhanging Fuchsia and Rose ...
