I thought it was rather disappointing, lots of grass and trees, and a lake. The big glass dome was disappointing too, lots of overgrown shrubs but nothing exciting. Not one cactus ! Couldn't have a coffee, too long a que, and no free tables. Now I know why we didn't go back after our last visit 10 yrs ago - there's nothing there you can't see anywhere else.

We've only been there once years & years ago when it was still quite new so I can't really remember what it was like, it does look as though they've gone for a more natural look now rather than a formal style garden. Everywhere you go now though around here the cafes are full as people are desperate to get out & they've had to put visiting the new RHS Bridgewater garden back onto booking to visit as the day they opened it to 'turn up & walk in' at the beginning of this month they were overwhelmed & had to turn hundreds of people away.

There were crowds here too SueA, and a long que to go in, but I was putting it down to tourists.

I hope you enjoy it grindle, but September is a popular month for holidays. Actually the Botanic garden was so big that it didn't seem crowded at all (except in the cafe) so maybe the people will spread themselves out at Wakehurst.
