Really great photographs. Is it a lake now? These photos show the best of Britain in a walk in a quiet area. Look at the perfection of the white wildflower.

It is very peaceful, we only met 3 other people walking round, it does have a ranger's office which is manned occasionally but there aren't any facilities at all. There is a dipping pond for children but that doesn't look as though it's being used anymore & there are newts & native orchids on site, they have had sheep grazing the land there as well in the past every so often but they're not there at the moment, pic. below one I took there a few years ago.

Groan! I was a bit sheepish taking the pic. as he looked like he was thinking 'I've got my eye on ewe'!

Really great photographs. Is it a lake now? These photos show the best of Britain in a walk in a quiet area. Look at the perfection of the white wildflower. It's a collection of large ponds/mini lakes Cherry & some of them are used by an angling society for fishing. Originally there were claypits dug for the local brickworks, there's still a small brickworks nearby. It's very peaceful even though it's beside a busy road & next to a small housing estate & it's run by Warrington Council & a local wildlife trust, I think they have very limited funds though but it's a good place for a walk for a couple of hours or just a quick walk around one of the sections for a quick breath of fresh air.
