I regularly order bulbs from Parkers and have little problems with them. Their plug plants can be very variable however. I recently ordered quite a large number of plants and most were fine. I lost 3 delphiniums and was waiting for 30 fuchsia plugs. They duly arrived via Veri [formerly Hermes] but oh dear. The box was crushed and it looked as if the contents had been in a tumble drier. This is what it was like when I opened them. Over half had lost their tips too. It was a shame as the plug plants were well established. I emailed Parkers with the photos and they responded within a couple of days. They are sending me replacement fuchsia and 3 delphiniums for the failed ones. I am pretty sure the damage was the fault of the courier and Parkers were grateful for me highlighting the problem. I think many of us just wouldn't buy from them again.

that's such a shame, couriers can be very hit and miss with plant deliveries, I hope your replacements arrive in good condition

I find royal mail the best of the lot but they are more expensive. I hope they arrive before we go away for a week's break as youngest girl will happily water but not sure how good her potting up and labelling skills are

It would be the couriers seaburn, Hermes have a terrible reputation & I don't think the name change will make a difference. Parkers are usually pretty good, I remember once I ordered various things including a bunch of snowdrops in the green & when the box arrived I couldn't find the snowdrops in there & emailed them to say they must have missed them out & they sent me replacements - later however I thought I'd check through the scrunched up paper in the box which had been used to surround & protect the plants & found the snowdrops rolled up in the middle of it, a bit squashed but still rescuable!

seaburn you were right to let Parkers know this. Well, they were so bad you had to really. My son’s friend works for Norfolk Quality Plants and tests out the delivery drivers, using my son as the recipient, for quality and speed of delivery.

Spent a happy couple of hours potting up the Fuchsias yesterday, from the original 30 there are only 8 left. But at this stage I have no idea what they are. I will have to wait for them to flower.

the saved 8 are forming buds, one has open flowers and I can assign it a name now, Garden News. Pretty thing too, pale pink outer purply pink inner petals.

the replacements were excellent Eli and all have grown away well. So Parkers came up trumps here and the second dilivery was much better, in fact no spilt soil at all.

pleased they were of good quality grindle. I bought some prim Viali [?] a few years back and they were excellent and managed to get 3 extra plants.
