Hi all It's been a bonkers time! I've given up on the wildlife garden, as it simply wasn't working out, and am now focusing on getting things in order for spring and summer! It's a lovely time of year. I hope you're all well. Does anyone have a view on the shape of this olive 'tree'? I'd like to plan on getting it more tree-like and any views would be welcome. Thanks Chris

You could try picking the best stem and snipping the others off at ground level, I have a very similar olive plant so they do tend to be multiple stemmed as young trees

That looks as though the main lead stem has been cut off in the centre & it's sprouted from around the sides to form more of a shrub. steve's idea could give you a good starting point to train the shape but I think it will always try to be 'shrubby'. I had a look at the one we have in a pot & I think it's a grafted tree with a straight stem & the sort of 'lollipop' shape of branches at the top, the graft is onto rootstock at the base of the stem so that will limit the height & then on the straight stem it seems to have had any side branches rubbed off before they've developed leaving just the 3 or 4 branches coming off at the top.
