Any thoughts about whether Miracle Gro or tomato feed is best for pots with geraniums, begonia, verbena etc? I assumed the former, but two articles have said the latter. Thanks. Chris

I just use seaweed feed for everything but I would think either of the ones you mention would be fine. I don't think it makes a lot of difference with summer bedding type plants in pots etc. as they only have to last for a few months/until the first frosts.

Chris Miracle Gro is a multipurpose fertiliser which, I think, would be the best opion with containerised plants. Tomato food is a high Potash feed which is used to increase flowers and fruiting but doesn`t do much for other plant growth.

Once the plants are established & from the start of summer time (21st June) till the start of autumn (21st September) I water most of my plants with tomato fertilizer. Having a high concentration of potash it's good for flowering plants.
