Over the week-end we had some lovely weather, and since I can't do anything in the garden until the windows are in my greenhouse, I decided to take a trip to a not-far-away country park. It's called 'Craig y Nos' ('Rock of the Night') and is just over half-an-hour's drive from here, in the beautiful valley of the river Tawe in the Brecon Beacons.
Craig y Nos Castle is the former home of an Italian soprano opera singer called Madam Adelina Patti, who fell in love with the place and came to live there in the 19th century.
The 40 acre grounds are now owned and maintained by the Brecon Beacons National Park authority, and comprise a lake, woodland walks, and riverside walks ...

what a stunning place. Thank you for sharing it Hywel. It is an area we are thinking of going to next year on a motorbike holiday. If you could guarantee the blue skies I'd be very grateful

What a lovely way to spend time while waiting for the greenhouse windows. These photos show beautiful Welsh views in a special garden and have brightened up our forum.
