Thank you both for your welcome ...
Re yesterday's comment - Here are photos of my cold frames, where I keep my cacti. I have risen them on concrete blocks to save my back. It's much easier like this.
Sorry about the mess around them, but I'll tidy it when I'm able .... I can't keep the place looking immaculate all the time

Hi everyone! Obviously new here! My name is esther and I want to learn how to keep my garden nice + also possibly see if I can grow some veg! But that is a long way off yet! For the moment I am taking baby steps! I cant understand why, when I mow my lawn it looks a bit dishevelled compared to my neighbours neat lawns! Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?! The old tenant didn't actually mow the lawn for months so would that be why? but we have been here for a year!! xx

Hi Esther and welcome to the forums, regular mowing does it for me, if its short it can't really look straggly

Hiya Esther, Welcome to Garden Friends. I understand about tiny steps. I don't know a lot about gardening but I am having a go. There are a lot of people here who do know what they are talking about. Don't be a afraid to ask for help.

Hello everyone, so glad I found you all. I have loved gardening all my life. From reading books on the subject to getting my hands dirty with soil. I enjoy watching nature. I've grown a lot of flowers from seed using window cells and homemade coldframes. Now I'm starting a new venture, I've just got my very first greenhouse, oh what joy. I will need a lot of advice from you all on this.
