Lovely Lewisias, Eli! I saw them for the first time about 5 years ago when we went to our daughter's place in a village about five miles from here. There was a plant sale on & as we were going to her house to celebrate my birthday with the gkids, she offered to pay for any plants I might like to buy there. While I was having a look around to see what was on offer I came across a plant stall that had these for sale. I'd never grown them before & I was tempted to get a couple of plants but in the end decided on 4 Pelargoniums (which I still have - well cuttings from them anyway!) When I got home I looked them up on the internet & after reading about their care I thought I had probably made a good decision not buying them as I doubt they would have lasted nearly as long as the Pelargoniums I bought. Still. I've continued to like them & maybe one day I'll get myself a plant for the balcony & try & give it the conditions it needs.
