Thank you all for my Birthday wishes, It wasn't the best day but i kept busy all morning doing the garden, mum was quite perky when we went in then in the evening hubby took me out for a m
which was good. Went again yesterday and she'd changed talking a load of rubbish which i found very hard so we didn't stay long.

Happy belated birthday lesley.

I know how difficult and upsetting such visits are, my brother was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's 4years ago and now lives in an assisted living place , very hard to have a conversation now with him,sadly he seems to have got worse in the past couple of months. It's such a cruel disease to watch takeover a loved one and our visits are more upsetting than happy experiences now . However there are happy moments when a spark of my old brother shines through,reminding me that he's still here with us.

Sorry to hear that your mum wasn't too good lesley, it is upsetting but you have to try & take advantage of her good days. Glad you were at least able to get in the garden & get out with your husband. xx

Sorry to hear about your brother too jellibeans, my (half) sister in Australia has Alzheimer's as well & I only have contact with her husband now by email, they're both in their 80s & I think he finds it difficult as he goes & sits with her for most of the day in her care home & says sometimes she becomes very agitated.
