Friday mornings, about 7.30, our new refuse collections come here ....... For the past 2 weeks the 'operators' have decided that throwing the emptied large plastic boxes, (that hold tins, papers etc.) , like skimming pebbles across water, is the best way to put them back on the pavements Consequently the noise out there each week is horrendous Laughs, yells and cheers as skimming plastic bins/boxes skid along the ground is something that's going to end up in tears soon because i'll be going out there and skimming one of the boxes down one of theirs throat WHY is it necessary to skim them ? ? ? ? Why can't people PLACE heavy plastic boxes back in position ? ? ? Why throw them ? ? ? Idiot behaviour is something that makes me see red. This is very very quiet area and road and the noise is deafening

I hate recycling day anyway - and poor you, with that going on! We're getting the new system here soon, the same as you have up there. I hope we don't get box-throwing along with it!

I shouldn't laugh Louise, but you do make it sound quite funny. I would be a bit wary of speaking to them, or your box might be skimmed a long walk away.
Seriously, you could telephone the Council because this is 'yob' behaviour.

Yes they do that here too or leave them very close to the road, being on a hill it doesn't take much for them to be blown into/across the road. They didn't even empty ours this week next door asked them why, apparently because we have a blue box not a green one.

PLEASE don't shoot them, Louise. I'd have to come up and bail you out! ;D Ours irritate me each time too - they throw the empty boxes on the bank outside the house and always, always hit one of my carefully transplanted primroses.

We don't get a box collection But we do have a big recycling bin for paper and card, only thing is it is quite a walk to the main road where the bin men collect it. We end up taking it to the tip.
