Nice pressies! I don't have any clematis out yet but do have buds on the Montana & some others, even the Nelly Moser. Here's some pics. of some flowers out at the moment. Tulips- pink (can't remember name), tarda & Red Riding Hood, chaenomeles & mahonia.

Sue they are lovely. Your photography is good, especially of the last two pics.
Louise, I have heard of Ramonda, but only heard of it. I like it. Must look it up. Isn't it like a primula?

Yes, it looks quite like one, Cherry. It's related to the african violet and is a great plant for shade and poor thin gritty soil. Doesn't like rich or acid soil nor does it like a lot and/or hot sunny sites, i have mine facing north and it sees very little sun in the summer months and none in the colder months. It's evergreen and has lovely crinkly leaves like an african violet - the harsh winter didn't phase it one bit ! Similar to a Lewisia in that they'll rot and die if water stays on their crown, it's suggested that it's grown on its side but i have mine flat on the ground ...... always like to break the rules, me
