Thanks Lou, I really like it so looked it up only to be slightly disappointed. It would appear that it needs typical woodland conditions and acidic humous-rich soil. Not to be deterred I'll look out for seed and regard it as a challenge, most things are 'challenging' nowadays

I grew them in my last garden and it was far from being acidic and the same as Lou not particularly woodsy either, I'd give them a go Ron ;D

My Venus fly trap has begun to flower, they are not amazing flowers and are supposed to be removed but I wanted to see what they looked like.

I expected them all to open at once but each one lasts for a day and the next one opens, still I've seen them now. I thought they would be more like these - loads of flowers at once

There is so much coming to life in my garden that i don't know where to start with pictures ..... Numerous irises in bud .... Iris 'Cimarron Rose' Gerbera (carmine) Aquilegia canadensis 'Little Lanterns' A McKanna aquilegia almost open I love to see the progress of Peonies as they mature Sophora 'Sun King' Dicentra again

Wf - they're quite pretty, those flowers. it was a long time ago, but my guess would be Cadbury or one of the shows, I remember they were from bulbs. Avon bulbs & Crocus sell them among others
