I read about this yesterday, it's a disgrace and a waste of licence payers money, no wonder a licence is so expensive if they continue to throw money like this away. It could have been opened to the public, at least that way someone would have got pleasure from it

I agree - surely someone would have bought it or leased it and kept it up? As I understand it the land IS owned by someone and only leased to the beeb.

Yep...that's what I heard. I am disappointed that the BBC has allowed this to happen. I don't blame the gardeners as I think that, as with all large organisations, it's the accountants who decide what happens to resources, not the presenters or the producers. I should think that Toby, Alys, Carol and Joe are just as angry as we are.

There is an article re Green acre in last weeks AG by Toby saying all the plants that can be are supposedly being reused, the article is because he has written a book about Green acre. So he is of the opinion that the Beeb are doing "something" with it
