The flowers are a little smaller than I recall?.....fishermen's tales??? I think its the later flowers produced in the summer that are larger. Still beautiful though

Oh SteveN - that is gorgeous! What a beauty. ;D By the way, I picked up my Sinocalycanthus chinensis yesterday. The leaves are a similar shape, but I know the (eventual) flowers won't be as spectacular as yours. They do look lovely on 't' net, though.

How odd.... i was watching an old GW this morning and they spoke about these plants just being tested out and they weren't for sale then....wooooo spooky! And i agree, it is gorgeous, i wonder if it would be hardy up here or is that expecting too much Give me a shock Steve, how much do they cost to buy?

It survived that spell in December without any problems at all. So did the one outside at work and thats 400ft higher.
