Every night the nit picky husband listens quietly to his wife's prayers. Over the years he notices that the content rarely changes, she always asks Him to keep the children safe from harm, to keep both their parents fit and well. And in recent years she has been asking for patience.
when next at church he mentions this, with pride swelling in his breast, to the local clergyman. At the next opportunity the clergyman coments on her prayers and asks why patience in particular as he feels she is the calmest most inoffensive woman in the congregation. She looks him straight in the eye and replies. 'I darent ask for strength, because if I did I would beat my husband to death!'
